Movies. I love them. I've been going to them for as long as I can remember. My father was a huge fan. My brother is a huge fan. Growing up, we spent many a payday Friday going to McDonalds for dinner and then a movie. Or if it looked to be a Blockbuster, dad would leave work early. He would buy the tickets in advance and we would all stand in line for the movie. Then afterwards hit McDonalds. Fond memories.
Well, we just went to see 'I Love You, Man'. With alot of the comedies of today playing off what I call 'dumb' humor. Or a character acting really unintelligent to get the laugh. Or a movie uses gross or ridiculous events to pull in the humor. Its just not so in 'I Love You, Man'. This was a well put together movie. Truly funny moments. Well written. And the main actors played their part well.
I could go on and on. I could ruin some scenes for you, but dont worry. I wont.
Go see the movie. If you havent laughed in a while at a movie posing as a comedy, you'll like the change. Its worth the price...

Killer Girl Scout cookies.
I want to start off with....OMG! I had no idea how tough Girl Scout cookie sales can be! I never thought it could sap the life out of you, making you tired beyond belief. But I'm here to say, the 13 young ladies (5 to 6 year olds) and their fearless leader, my significant other Christy, did a FANTASTIC job. The troop did over $10,000 in cookie sales. Booths and friend/family sales. Bailey, Christy's little Daisy Girl Scout, did over 1000 boxes alone between booths, us taking the form to work, and her walking the neighborhood. It was a tiring but incredible experience, not just for me, but I'm sure for all of the girls too. This was the very first year that Daisy's were allowed to be apart of the cookie sales. I think we rocked it!
Christy and I, leader and co-leader of troop 50973, did learn a few things. One, let some of the parents help. We wanted things to go the right way the first time. So we did the majority of it our selves. Sometimes doing booth sales by ourselves. Some of the parents werent the 'joining in' type anyways. But to be fair, there were some parents who did want to join in. And thank god they did.
Christy rocks as a leader. She wants everyone to have so much fun. But with wanting that, I see alot of herself being run down. I do not know how this woman doesnt sleep more than she does. It makes me tired just watching her sometimes. But as she always says, "You can sleep when you die."
I'm proud of Christy. I'm proud of our Daisy's.

A rant on the weather.
This weather is killing me. The wind gusts are extreme here. Sure, it rains maybe a total of a month here in Orcutt, California. The rest of the year is sunny and nothing but blue skies. But the wind can just zap you and leave you exhausted. And the wind doesnt stop when it decides to rain either. Right now as I write this, the wind gusts are so strong that a few blocks over where they are building new homes, the lots where there arent any homes built yet, the sand is just billowing up and across the land. Resembles clouds of smoke from a fire. And with us being on the 'Central Coast', the wind isnt warm, its cold and miserable most of the time. Its so hard right now, the sliding glass door is bumping back and forth in its track. Ugh.
And the most annoying part of the wind? It messes up my damn hair! /sigh
